This work was a university team project.
Hypothesis: padding products (especially those made out of
multiple foams) can be designed more sustainable by using 3d-printed
monomaterial, which can be recycled and reprinted without the need
of disassembly. Mixes of different properties of traditional foams
can be recreated using constructional techniques.
To verify our hypothesis, we designed a boulder crashpad - a high
performance sport product traditionally consisting of 3 to 6 different
types of foam for optimized pressure distribution and dampening.
