The hybrid sport Hike and Fly combines mountaineering with paragliding, and has evolved a lot over the past years with increasingly lighter gear. This project explores how innovative product design can not only match this development but contribute to the sport's progress. The goal was to create a small, light backpack that meets the demands of ambitious hike and fly athletes. Through an extensive research, including an analysis of the sport and the market, a survey and interviews with experts, a concept was developed. In the prototyping stage, this concept was put into practice, iterated, improved and finally evaluated through field testing.
